Transform Your Yacht with Expert Refit & Upgrade Management

From concept to completion We manage complex refit projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards

The Challenge:

Yacht refits are complex. Coordinating multiple vendors, managing budgets, ensuring quality, and keeping projects on schedule is overwhelming. Many owners face:

  • Budget overruns (15–30% above estimates)

  • Timeline delays (weeks or months beyond schedule)

  • Quality inconsistencies across different trades

  • Communication gaps with yards and suppliers

  • Warranty and compliance issues post-completion

Our Approach:

We manage every phase of your refit with the same rigor we apply to new yacht commissioning:

Pre-Refit Planning – Scope definition, vendor selection, budget forecasting, timeline development Project Supervision – On-site oversight, daily progress tracking, quality inspections, change management Vendor Coordination – Sourcing specialists, managing contracts, ensuring compliance with maritime standards Budget Control – Cost tracking, invoice review, contingency management, transparent reporting Quality Assurance – Inspections at key milestones, defect documentation, mandatory corrections before sign-off Compliance & Documentation – CE compliance, safety certification, warranty documentation, insurance coordination

Why Choose Yacht Commissioning?

  • Established relationships with repair yards, marine engineers, and suppliers across the Mediterranean and Atlantic

  • Multilingual expertise – communication in English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Danish

  • Independent perspective – no ties to specific vendors; we prioritize your interests

  • Proven track record – 40+ years of experience managing refits for monohulls and catamarans (45–80 feet)

  • Transparent communication – regular updates, cost forecasts, and decision-making authority rests with you

Typical Refit Scope:

  • Propulsion systems – Engine replacement, saildrive service, hybrid/electric propulsion integration

  • Power & electrical – Generator upgrades, solar panel installation, battery systems, electrical rewiring

  • Water systems – Watermaker installation, plumbing upgrades, tank refurbishment

  • Interior upgrades – Galley modernization, cabin refurbishment, upholstery, flooring

  • Safety & navigation – Electronics upgrades, radar, autopilot, safety equipment installation

  • Structural & exterior – Hull repairs, gelcoat restoration, deck work, mast/rigging service

  • Comfort systems – Air conditioning, heating, ventilation, entertainment systems

Timeline & Budget: Refit duration and cost depend on scope.

Our unique approach is that we make a budget on two scopes:

  • A NECESSARY TO DO list

  • A NICE TO HAVE list

Quite often, during the execution of the project, we face additional elements which during the assessment of the yacht, could not have been detected. As we work on tight budget control management, we may discuss with the client to shift NICE TO HAVE budget to the NECESSARY to do list. Keeping the total budget under control.

We provide detailed proposals with fixed timelines and budgets before work begins. Yachtcommissioning has a reputation of completing refits in a much shorter time frame compared to the yacht industry standards. Keeping Quality and Budget under control
